Hosted EDI
for the migration to QAD's EDI ECommerce solution
Hosted EDI is designed to
streamline your supply chain activities and maximize the efficient
use of EDI with minimum input required from you. ECbridges can remotely
manage your EDI freeing you to focus on your own core competencies.
With hosted services, ECbridges can handle your EDI via the infrastructure
we have put in our data center or ECbridges can run the hardware/software
you own at our location.
ECbridges Hosted EDI is
the Application Service Provider (ASP) model taken to the next level.
As a Managed Service Provider, we will use remote services to establish
and maintain EDI for you. Hosted EDI provides the two core functions
of EDI: communications and mapping.
Hosted EDI provides for the exchange EDI or XML formatted messages with your trading partners as follows:
- ECbridges will assist you in configuring VAN services.
- Using the VAN services, ECbridges will provide the communications required to send and receive EDI (or other) documents from your trading partners.
- ECbridges will translate (map) the documents into the SNF format required by QAD’s ECommerce solution.
- Outgoing SNF formatted files to your business partners will be translated into the required formats.
Hosted EDI services also include:
- Configuration of your environment to accommodate the service
- Interaction on your behalf with trading partners to promote proper implementation and integration of specifications for EDI documents and VAN communications, and assist in the resolution of transmission issues
- Maintain a full test environment
- Creation of 997 Functional Acknowledgements
- Compliance checking
- Monitoring of EDI communications
- Problem notification
- Archiving
- Furnishing of reports reflecting trading partner interaction and activity, system metrics, and other statistics
- Monthly data reports and EDI documents on CD-ROM

EDI On-Site solution for the migration to QAD's e-Commerce solution
ECbridges' Stand-Alone
EDI solution is for a company that prefers to handle their EDI in-house.
ECbridges will install, implement, and configure all the necessary
components to get your EDI solution up and running in the new ECommerce
environment. Your employees supported by the expertise of ECbridges
will administer the on-going EDI effort.
ECbridges will be available
on an on-going basis for advice, consultation, and the more complex
EDI functions such as mapping.
EDI On-Site solution includes:
- Translator software, Sterling Gentran or GIS, or Softshare ECS/Delta
Solution: Sterling's Gentran is recognized as the leader in mapping
and translation software. Softshare offers similar functionality
for tens of thousands of dollars less. The install of a Sterling
or Softshare system on-site enables mapping, translation, enveloping,
functional acknowledgements, compliance checking, and archiving.
- Translator Set-up: ECbridges will install and configure your translator
environment. Included is the establishment of your trading partner
set-up.
- Communications Hardware: All necessary communications hardware will be installed, configured, and tested.
- Set-up: ECbridges expert Installers will install, configure, and implement a customized stand-alone communications system at your site. We will write, install, and test the communications scripts necessary to connect to your VAN(s).
- EDI Mapping: ECbridges will write and install the initial translation maps to convert your trading partner's EDI data into the SNF format required by QAD's EDI ECommerce module.
